About Dosing

The biggest misconception in starting a CBD program is how much CBD should be taken to solve you situation. Most products provide a simple dosing suggestion based on an average dose or what might be legal in the state. Unfortunatly one size does not fit all!

It is also very important to know the potency of any supplement that you add to your diet. An effective method for taking CBD is with a Tincture. Tinctures are made from dissolving a concentrated hemp Isolate into an oil like Olive, Avocado or Coconut, a Tincture concentration can range from 25mg to 2500mg. The more concentrate in a Tincture the less product may be needed to meet your health requirements.

Even with the wave of states legalizing medical marijuana, many physicians are still reluctant to prescribe cannabinoids because they are not sure what dosages to prescribe. After all, most medical schools never cover CBD Cannabidiol in their pharmacology courses. Medical scientists are just now developing dosing schedules for medical hemp, medicinal marijuana and their extracts, including CBD.

Dosing Suggestions

There are a number of factors that determine what the correct CBD dosage for you might be. This can include, but is not limited to, your weight, metabolism, and genetics. Because each individual’s endocannabinoid system is unique, some people only need a very small amount of CBD, while others take much higher doses to receive the desired benefits. Everyone will be different, and what works for you might not be right for someone else. CBD can take time to work, so wait up to 2 hours before ingesting more.

A CBD Tincture is most commonly taken orally in a concentrated drops / tincture format. To take CBD tincture first hold it under the tongue at least 30 seconds, to be absorbed in the mouth prior to swallowing. This step is important because some of the CBD taken will be broken down by the digestive system at a slower rate.

CUBED Naturals has created our own step program to help find that dose. With an average dose of around 20mg to 25mg of CBD, we have seen that many of the other brands can require up to two droppers full of tincture to achieve your required dose. This makes it a bit hard at times to hold under the tongue as required.

We have standardized our bottle size, 60ml/2oz. with only two concentrates for our Tincture. By using our graduated pump spray, dosing can be obtained from 5mg or 15mg per pump by the concentration. This will allow you to control dosing with a smaller dose volume.

Dosing Thoughts

Research studies have used doses from 15mg to as high as 600mg. Typical CBD supplements provide 20mg to 25mg. In taking CBD for pain, dosing can vary widely depending on the degree of your pain symptoms and may require a daily dose of 60mg or more. A person with mild anxiety may experience relief on as little as 10mg to 20mg CBD per day, with an occasional boost as situations arise. Being an all natural alternative, it does not build up in your system and cannot be overdosed.

It is important to consult with your healthcare provider before starting any supplement program.

It has been suggested to start with a dose of 5mg to 10mg of CBD twice a day. If you are experiencing pain, testimonials have shown that starting higher around 20mg may be an alternative to meet your need faster.  After a few days, you may need to increase your CBD dosage. Steps of 5mg to 10mg are suggested to allow yourself time to monitor changes.  Be aware of how you feel. Don’t hurry the process. Wait 1 or 2 days between changes. This will allow you to determine the dosing that your body requires to meet your goals. When you find that “Sweet Spot” you will now be able to gauge your usage to help determine when you will need to replenish. If you are attempting to lower your prescribed pharmaceuticals, please contact your healthcare provider to discuss the best procedure for lowering your meds. There are many medications that require a stepped withdrawal.
